With my first 2D game, Garden of Eating, under my belt, it's time for me to try something new. The Garden of Eating (a Snake clone using sprites) was done in C++ using SFML. On the one hand, I really like SFML -- and would fall back to it in a heartbeat... On the other hand, I also like the idea of exploring new frameworks and development environments.
Godot in particular has caught my eye. While it has been around for few years, my impression is that it's really starting to hit its stride since the 3.0 release. I'd like to try it out for a little while -- and that's what this blog series will be all about!
