BMFONT 1.12v

Hi anyone has this version of BMFONT because the newest doesn't work well.

Sorry, I don't have that exact version - but - bmfont is hosted on sourceforge in svn. You might try browsing/building previous revisions (I think there is just like 29 of them - one of those will correspond to 1.12) - https://sourceforge.net/p/bmfont/code/HEAD/tree/

Also I think the author crawls this forums - @witchlord

Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in this link.

1.12 is from 2009, it is before I open sourced BMFont. I might have the source code for 1.12 somewhere, but I can't promise.

What is it that isn't working well in the latest version? If you can tell me I might be able to fix it.

@WitchLord I was looking for the old version of BMFont - 1.9c

I wanted to create an FNT file for a fan made localization for an old game, that unfortunately crashes when I generate the font with the latest version of Bitmap Font Generator. Maybe I haven't removed the right informations from the top header and the kerning header, I don't know. But with version 1.6 I found on the internet the game has no problems with reading the FNT+TGA files.
… I'll just try to remove other informations from the FNT file, maybe I'll find a way to get the game running ..

Edit: That was it … I must have missed some header informations earlier. That is the channel information, kerning header, chnl at the end of each line, and the TGA file name with two zeroes.
But I'm still confused what the ARGB channels change. For example what would I have to change in order to have black text with white outline.

Thanks for posting this, Salman. I had completely forgotten about the Wayback Machine. That is an excellent source for getting the older versions.

I've tested versions 1.6, 1.13 and, 1.14a. Only 1.14a was laggy. When I switched between several font families and encodings, minimized and maximized, 1.14a ran super slow, and slowed down other apps, such as GIMP.
Another bug in 1.14a is with clipping characters horizontally, such as ‰, Œ, Љ - when “Render from Truetype Outline” is unchecked.
