How about a game story where the main character has an airplane that follows him around with a giant magnet and a lens to focus it, and the hero has also replaced his bones with metal versions so the magnetic laser gives him the ability to fly. Assuming the airplane is still there, a priority for the hero. Note that airplanes and pilots are cheap, so there's plenty of backup airplanes. This will make a good gameplay element for making one character stronger than the others, although it might be fun to also give the hero a faster running speed if he drops all his items, and also unlimited time slowdown a la max payne.
