2d sprite programs

What is the best software package for doing 2d sprites in? and is there any decent tutorials out there for drawing 2d sprites.

Usually you get someone elso to do sprites for you...if not, well, it takes practice, but I don''t think that any tutorial can help. You must have talent. Either you do or you don''t, that''s all there is to it.
