I''m trying to model a spinning earth, and was wondering if anyone can point me to some information on texture mapping spheres with rectangular bitmaps?

There is a working sample of spinning Earth, being a part of DirectX 7.0a SDK available from Micro$oft pages to download. Featuring some lighting and even a sort of bump-mapping. SDK weighs a wacky 130MB, but is a DEFINITE MUST HAVE for all interested in a world of DirectX.

DX7 SDK is also available in separate smaller downloads, but you simply won''t have the examples, therefore no spinning earth. Examples are the major part of this 0.13 GB file.

This is only an information message as it is useless.
